yankees opener

For those that were looking for the score on the Yankees game yesterday, well, it didn’t happen. March 31st home opener was a wash out and it was postponed for tonight, April 1st at 7:05pm against the Blue Jays. Although, weather for tonight’s game is also an issue. So will take 2 of the Yankees opening game move into take 3? Let’s hope for the fans of the Yankees that the home opener gets the show on the road. For more information on tonight’s game or for ticket information, visit www.yankees.com

If fighting is not your style, then perhaps playing a good healthy game of Soccer, Volleyball or Basketball might be exactly what you need to fight for your City.

Starting March 30th until April 8, Manhattanites will indulge in an East Vs. West battle to see who is the best.

“Over 100 separate teams will participate, with the West team consisting of residents of the island west of Fifth Avenue (above 14th Street) or west of Broadway (below 14th); the East squad covers denizens of the other side of the borough. Winners of each event (soccer, basketball, volleyball and a 5K run) acquire 100 points for their side. There are divisions for both males and females, and the 5K race is co-ed.  The 5k is the debut event with the starting gun sounding at 10:00 a.m. at Pier 46 in Hudson River Park. The rest of the events will be held at the following locations…”

Trinity School
139 W. 91st Street

Xavier High School
30 W. 16th Street

MLK Jr. High School
122 Amsterdam Avenue

The Dalton School
200 E. 87th Street

Baruch College
55 Lexington Ave (at 24th Street)

Wagner Jr. High School
220 E. 76th Street (btw. 2nd & 3rd Ave)

Hhmmm…..who do you think will win?

Go Yankees!  Woo Hoo!!  Yes my friends, it’s that time again.  BASEBALL TIME!  If you thought that you would catch the game live at the stadium this season, you are wrong.  Unless of course, you are willing to give your arm and leg (which serves them no purpose) in fair exchange for tickets.

Their first game which is scheduled for September 21st, 2008 with the Orioles is sold out.  Yep! Sold out! Zilch! Nada!

The tickets went on sale yesterday and were sold out within minutes.

“About 75 percent of the seats were already taken by season ticket holders.  Scalpers are offering some of the best seats for sale online for as much as $17,000.  Some fans are asking for more than $300 dollars for bleacher seats that are normally $14.”

Is that insane or what?

I’ll be right there with you watching it on TV, unless, I had a generous angel from heaven to  miraculously fly me there :) , but I doubt it!

Read and weep Yankees fans!  But it ain’t over ’till it’s over….
