Oh my gosh…. so I quickly ran out to get my favorite person some chocolates from Godiva (the one on Broadway & 41st); the ultimate chocolate store!
I ended spending an hour on a line that was not moving. I have to tell you, sometimes New Yorkers are so rude. They will reach over your head, see you standing there and will not say excuse me. I mean, is it so hard to mouth those two words? I think not! After and hour and ten minutes on that line, I shot over to Duane Reade to pick up two cards, just two; one for my favorite person and one for my parents. Was it shocking to me to find that there were no cards left? Yes! I was shocked. I didn’t think that New Yorkers were that into Valentine’s Day, especially when there are so many gourmet chocolate shops in NYC.
Back to the card story: I ended up taking twenty minutes to pan through an already tousled card rack to barely come out with two measly cards. Of course, I then had to stand on line for another twenty minutes. However, it’s just my luck that I get the slowest cashier in the world.
Moving on…I got my things and hurried back to work, still in awe that it’s crazy on the streets of New York City on Valentine’s Day. There are certainly more people in love, or showing love than we think out there!
What did I buy from Godiva?

$45 total, not bad for my favorite person, although I’m sure he’s worth much more than that
Good Work New York!
